Days for girls puts together feminine hygiene kits for girls around the world who don't have access to the products they need to stay in school during their time of the month. How can we help? The Days for Girls website has instructions and patterns for us to help, but making reusable pads, moisture barriers and drawstring bags, to be put together into kits for these girls! Quality control matters to Days for Girls, it's important to them that the kits are attractive and well made in order to be long lasting. I think this might be my first charity sewing event, so if you're local, stay tuned!
According to the Days for Girls website, "After the distribution of Days for Girls kits, school absence rates dropped from %36 to %8 in Uganda and %25 to %3 in Kenya". Amazing!
